Correspondents’ Chapel Congratulates Gadau, New NUJ Bauchi Chairman

From Paul Orude, Bauchi
The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, has congratulated Comrade Isah Garba Gadau on his election as chairman of the council.
Gadau was elected alongside members of his State Working Committee (SWC) at the NUJ Bauchi State Council elections held on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Secretary, Samuel Luka, the Correspondents’ Chapel described the successful conduct of the election and the emergence of the new leadership as an important milestone for the union in the state.
The Chapel expressed confidence that the new administration would build on the achievements of previous administrations and work towards strengthening the NUJ in Bauchi State.
It urged the new leadership to prioritise unity, professionalism, journalists’ welfare, press freedom, ethical journalism and the protection of the interests of NUJ members.
The Chapel also called on the new State Working Committee to promote constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders, strengthen collaboration among the various chapels and ensure an inclusive administration that gives due attention to the concerns and aspirations of members.
It commended the outgone State Working Committee, led by Comrade Umar Sa’idu, for its service to the union and for facilitating what it described as the peaceful and orderly conduct of the council elections.
The Chapel particularly appreciated the Saidu led administration for creating an atmosphere that enabled eligible members to exercise their democratic rights and elect new leaders.
The Correspondents’ Chapel prayed God to grant the Gadau led leadership “the wisdom, patience, courage, fairness and foresight” required to steer the affairs of the union and take the Bauchi State Council to greater heights.
The Correspondents’ Chapel also assured the new administration of its commitment to constructive partnership and collaboration in advancing the collective interests of journalists and strengthening the journalism profession in the state.
