The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone E (North-East) has congratulated Alhaji Saidu Hassan Executive on his appointment as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council in Gombe State.
In a press statement signed by the Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Muhammad Muazu Hina, the student body described the appointment as well-deserved and a recognition of Hassan’s political experience, leadership qualities, loyalty, organisational capacity and longstanding contributions to the growth of the APC.
According to NANS Zone E, Hassan’s wealth of experience, strategic understanding of grassroots politics and ability to unite stakeholders will provide the necessary direction and political momentum required to strengthen the party’s structures and enhance its electoral prospects in the state.
The association also declared its readiness to mobilise support for the APC in the state, setting an ambitious target of 200,000 votes.
“As a major stakeholder in youth and student mobilisation across the North-East, NANS Zone E recognises the importance of meaningful youth participation in democratic processes,” the statement said.
“Young people constitute a significant force in Nigeria’s political development, and their participation remains essential to building a stronger democratic culture.
“In this regard, NANS Zone E declares its readiness to work with relevant stakeholders and mobilise willing students and young people through lawful, peaceful and democratic engagement, with an ambitious target of 200,000 votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State.”
The student body said the mobilisation commitment reflects its determination to encourage political awareness, promote constructive engagement and strengthen democratic participation among young people across Gombe State.
NANS Zone E also acknowledged the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, calling for sustained engagement with students and young people on policies affecting education, employment, economic opportunities and national development.
Comrade Hina noted that the appointment provides an opportunity to consolidate the party’s grassroots structures and create a more inclusive political environment for youth contribution.
“We therefore assure the Director-General of our readiness to provide constructive support, strategic youth engagement and effective mobilisation in advancing the campaign council’s objectives,” the statement added.
The association wished Hassan wisdom, strength and outstanding success in his new role.
