NAWOJ Bauchi Inaugurates Unopposed Executive with Rashida Yusuf as Chairperson

The Bauchi State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has inaugurated the reelected executives to steer the affairs of the association for the next three years.
The newly inaugurated officers are Rashida Yusuf of the Bauchi Television (BATV) as Chairperson, Maryamu Bala of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) as Vice Chairperson, Amina Ahmed of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as Secretary, Diana Yohanna of the Bauchi State mi istry of Information as Treasurer, Amina Mudi Abdullahi of Radio Nigeria Globe FM Bauchi as Financial Secretary, Rahama Mutashi of Globe FM Bauchi as Assistant Secretary and Firdausi Bakondi of Eagle Radio Bauchi as Auditor.
The Chairperson of the Electoral Committee, Zainab Agboola, announced that the executives emerged unopposed, following a smooth and transparent electoral process.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat on Saturday, was conducted by the National President of NAWOJ, Aisha Ibrahim, who was represented by the Zonal Secretary, Hauwa Aliyu.

Iher remarks, the NAWOJ National President congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and charged them to sustain the good work of the association while promoting unity and professionalism among members.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State council, Umar Said, congratulated the Rashida Yusuf led executives on iits reelectiom unopposed saying it was historical.
Te NUJ Chairman urged the newly inaugurated NAWOJ leadership to priotise training of members and remain inclusive in their administration and to carry all members along in advancing the objectives of the association.
In her acceptance speech on behalf of the executive members, the Chairperson, Rashida Yusuf, expressed deep gratitude to members for their unwavering support over the past three years, describing the journey as collective and inspiring.
“This victory is not mine alone; it is a jcollective achievement. We have worked as a team, faced challenges together, and celebrated milestones together. I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished during the last tenure, and this success belongs to all of us,” she said.
She outlined her vision for the next three years to include enhancing professionalism through continuous capacity building, strengthening solidarity among members, and championing causes that positively project the image and rights of women and girls in society.
Rashida Yusif further appreciated the NUJ State Council for its support and pledged the commitment of the new leadership to build on the existing foundation of unity and progress.
Praying for divine wisdom and guidance, she expressed optimism that with unity of purpose, the association would attain even greater heights in the years ahead.
