A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State and former House of Representatives aspirant for Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency, Hon. Babawo Dukku, has defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Hon. Dukku was formally received into the ADC by the party’s governorship candidate, Dr. Bala Bello Tinka, in Dukku.

Dukku said he left the APC after extensive consultations with his family, supporters and political elders in Dukku and Gombe State at large.

He explained that his decision to join the ADC and team up with Dr. Bala Bello Tinka was based on his conviction that the ADC is the only party capable of rescuing Gombe State and offering purposeful leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“After deep consultations, I have decided to resign from APC and I have joined ADC. I have confidence in the vision and leadership style of Dr. Bala Tinka.

“Together with my supporters, we will work hard to ensure the victory of ADC in Dukku, Gombe and Nigeria as a whole,” Dukku said.

Hon. Dukku also announced that he will collapse his entire political structure in Dukku into the ADC with immediate effect and called on his supporters to join hands to build a new Gombe State.

Receiving him, Dr. Bala Bello Tinka expressed joy over the development, describing Hon. Dukku as a grassroots politician and an experienced mobiliser whose entry will significantly strengthen the ADC in Dukku/Nafada and Gombe North.
