“Tiwa Savage Reflects on Surviving Sex Tape Scandal, Loss, and Search for True Love”
Our Editor
Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage has spoken candidly about moving past one of the most challenging periods of her life — the 2021 leak of her sex tape, which came amid personal tragedy.
In a recent YouTube interview with Zeze Mills, the singer described the scandal and the death of her father as the lowest points in her career.
“My dad died and my sex tape was released. The only way I could have survived was not to think about it,” she said, recalling how she coped by refusing to dwell on the incident.
Savage expressed gratitude for still having a platform to tell her story years later.
“Being here on the couch with you is such a blessing.
“Just the fact that you even want to talk to me, people want to hear what I have to say after so many years.
“It feels good. I’ve gone through so much, but have I really enjoyed the moment?” she reflected.
On matters of the heart, the award-winning singer admitted she has never truly experienced love despite her age and previous relationships.
