BAMV Backs Bala Mohammed’s Defection to APM, Inaugurates Officials to Mobilise Grassroot

From Paul Orude Bauchi
The Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Vanguard (BAMV) has thrown its weight behind the decision of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Speaking at the maiden programme inauguration of BAMV officials on the state and 20.Local Government Areas, Chairman of Dass Local Government who is also the Director General of the group, Comrade Mohammed Abubakar Jibo, described governor’s decision as courageous and done in the best interest of the people of Bauchi State .
Jibo said the governor’s move was borne out of patriotism, sincerity, honesty of purpose, political dexterity, and a desire for continued effective governance and sustainable development of Bauchi State beyond 2027.
He praised the governor’s political realignment and what he described as a meticulous defection to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
‘While reaffirming our total support and solidarity for Sen. Bala Mohammed as he embarks on a new political journey on the platform APM, it is equally our collective resolve to embark on a full-scale sensitisation tour across all parts of Bauchi State to enlighten the electorate on why the governor took this difficult but necessary decision in the overall interest of the people,” he said.
He charged the newly Inuaguratee officials to promote the efforts of the governor at the grassroots and assured of the need to reciprocate the governor’s selfless and meritorious service by rallying support to enable him lead the state to greater heights.
According to the DG, who also doubles as the national leader of BAMV, Governor Mohammed “is indeed a leader, not a ruler; a giver, not a taker; an achiever, not a destroyer. He is a true democrat, not a dictator.”
He added that the governor’s kindness and generosity surpass even the most optimistic expectations, comparing him to great Nigerian leaders of the past such as the Sardauna, Tafawa Balewa, Awolowo, and Aminu Kano.

Jibo further claimed that the achievements of Governor Mohammed in the last seven years are unprecedented.
“BAMV alongside 72 other political and civil society groups—some of which are non-political or belong to other parties—have unanimously aligned with Governor Bala Mohammed’s new political shift from the PDP to the APM.
“We strongly believe that this decision was not taken haphazardly, but after wide consultation, careful assessment, and thorough party scrutiny. We also believe in the governor’s ability, under the banner of the APM, to lead us to victory in the 2027 general elections,” he said.
