SDP Governorship Aspirant Kashim Praises Bauchi Workers’ Resilience

From Paul Orude Bauchi
The governorship aspirant on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Bauchi State, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim has commended workers in the state for their doggedness, resilience and commitment to the development of the state.
Kashim, the immediate past Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, said in a statement he personally issued on Friday to mark this year’s Workers’ Day that workers’ unwavering commitment continues to sustain communities and drive the state’s progress
The SDP aspirant said that despite economic challenges and harsh working conditions, workers have remained steadfast, demonstrating courage, discipline, and a strong sense of duty.
He acknowledged that their sacrifices are often not matched with the rewards and recognition they deserve, noting that delayed entitlements, poor welfare packages, and limited growth opportunities have placed a heavy burden on many.
“This situation is neither acceptable nor sustainable. Workers deserve dignity, fair compensation, and an environment where they can thrive, not merely survive. Your labour is invaluable and must be treated as such,” he said.
Kashim pledged that under his administration, the dignity of labour would be restored, with workers placed at the centre of governance.
He promised prompt payment of salaries and pensions, fair wage structures, investment in capacity building, and a more supportive working environment.
“Our vision is clear: a motivated workforce, a revitalised civil service, and a future where every worker can look ahead with confidence and hope.
“Better days are not just a promise—they are a responsibility we are prepared to fulfil,” he added.
