2027: Ex Governor Abubakar Picks APC Governorship Nomination Form

Immediate Past Governor of Bauchi State Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the Bauchi State governorship election ahead of 2027..

Abubakar said the step underscored his commitment to the party’s laid-down procedures and internal democratic principles.

He said: “This step reflects my disciplined adherence to the party’s established processes and my unwavering belief in the internal democratic mechanisms of the APC.

“as majority of APC stakeholders said , I reiterate my full alignment with the party’s official position on the adoption of either consensus or direct Primaries but for the consensus method in selecting governorship candidates it will help to promote internal unity, minimize the high costs and logistical challenges of direct primaries, and reduce the risk of litigation and defections by aggrieved aspirants because it produces the “right candidates by aligning with popular will,

The aspirant urged contenders to come together to agree on one person, the party seeks to prevent fractured factions after the primaries, ensuring a united front for the general election as majority of us suggested.

“I am confident that this approach will further deepen participatory democracy, strengthen party cohesion, and give every member a sense of ownership in the emergence of candidates,” he said.

He also reaffirmed his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the party at both national and state levels.

“I reaffirm my profound respect, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to the National Leader of the APC and President Bola Tinubu.

“I equally extend my highest regards to the leadership of the party in Bauchi State, its distinguished elders, and all recognised leaders whose guidance continues to shape the progressive ideals of the APC,” he said.

The governorship aspirant appreciated party stakeholders and supporters for their backing and pledged to execute legacy projects of elected as the next Governor of the State.
