Supreme Court Affirms Mark as ADC National Chairman
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed Mark as the substantive National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), bringing an end to the leadership dispute within the opposition party.
In a judgment delivered on Thursday, the apex court upheld the earlier decisions of lower courts recognizing Mark’s emergence as the authentic national chairman of the party.
The ruling is expected to restore stability within the ADC ahead of future political activities and preparations for upcoming elections.
Reacting to the judgment, party loyalists described the verdict as a victory for democracy, internal party discipline, and the rule of law.
They said the judgment would strengthen the party’s structure nationwide and provide a solid foundation for repositioning the ADC as a credible alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Political observers believe the verdict may also boost confidence among party members and supporters who had been divided over the prolonged leadership tussle.
With the legal battle now settled, attention is expected to shift to party reconciliation, membership mobilisation, and strategic planning for future elections.
