Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, on Tuesday announced that the government has taken over the payment of gratuities and pensions for staff of Taraba State University, effective January 2026.

This was contained in a press statement signed by his Commissioner of Information and Re-orientation, Barr. Zainab Usman, and made available to journalists in Jalingo.

Governor Kefas directed that all staff benefits from the university be submitted to the Office of the Head of Service, Establishment, and Records for processing and payment.

The statement noted that the government is addressing outstanding staff arrears, which it inherited at N1.865 billion. Of this, N1 billion has already been paid, leaving a balance of N865.894 million.
