Seth Francis: We’ll Stand With Bala Mohammed Even If He Defects to APC

A founding member of the Kaura Force Movement (KFM), Mr. Seth Francis, has vowed that the group will stand firmly behind the Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Sen. Bala Mohammed, even if he decides to defect to the All-Progressives Congress.

The Kaura Force Movement, led by the State Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Hon. Muhammad Maiwada Bello, alongside other like-minded individuals, has promised to support the governor through thick and thin in appreciation of his people-oriented programmes.

“The formation of KFM is coming at a crucial time,” Seth Francis, who fielded questions from journalists in company with the Commissioner and other founding members, stated. “When we look at the state generally, we realise that His Excellency has empowered young people in his administration, giving them opportunities to contribute to governance.”

“Looking at what he has done for the people of Bauchi State, transforming the state to the level it is today, we feel it is our responsibility as citizens to support him fully,” he added.

Francis described Governor Mohammed as a detribalised Nigerian whose leadership style should be emulated by other leaders, especially at a time when the country appears to be at a crossroads.

“The governor of Bauchi State does not care about where you come from, who you are, or your background. Regardless of religion or ethnicity, he empowers people and gives young people opportunities to make an impact,” he said.

“We feel that as a group, the best way to reciprocate his virtues is to demonstrate our support and loyalty by coming together and using our God-given resources and strength to tell him ‘well done.’”

He added that the governor has performed exceptionally well for the people of Bauchi State and that the group is ready to support whatever political ambition he chooses to pursue.

“The group is glad to let him know that whatever he decides to do concerning his political ambition, we will stand behind him through thick and thin,” Francis said.

According to him, the movement was formed to galvanise Nigerians of like minds.

“That is why we have come together as a force—to defend, promote and protect integrity and good leadership,” he explained.

Francis further affirmed that regardless of the speculation surrounding the governor’s possible defection to the APC, the group remains firmly behind him.

“We are only hearing such reports in the news. Whatever our principal declares is what we will align with,” he stated.

“We are not involved in the current political speculation about his defection or otherwise, but we are his ardent followers and we will stand with him whatever decision he takes.”

“Any decision he makes will be a sound one because he will never go against the interest of the common people of Bauchi State.”

He quoted the governor as saying: “I love Bauchi more than I love my family, more than I love myself. If one person in Bauchi is hurt, I am hurt.”

“We are capitalising on that philosophy to affirm that we stand with him through thick and thin,” Francis concluded.
