2026: Mohammed Urges Unity, Patience, Sustained Support for Bauchi’s Development

The Bauchi State Government has called on residents of the state to embrace unity, patience and continued support for government policies as the state and the nation step into the 2026 New Year.
In a New Year message issued on Wednesday, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed expressed gratitude to God for seeing Bauchi State and Nigeria through the challenges of 2025.
Governor Mohammed described the successful transition into 2026 as an act of divine grace.
The governor commended the people of the state for their resilience, steadfastness and prayers despite prevailing economic, political and social challenges.
He particularly acknowledged the patience and perseverance of citizens in the face of economic hardship.
He assuring residents that his administration would continue to provide palliative support while pursuing long-term and sustainable economic solutions.
Governor Mohammed reiterated his administration’s commitment to the full implementation of the outcomes of the recently held Bauchi State Investment and Economic Summit.
He noted that the initiative is central to accelerating economic growth and social development across the state.
He also assured residents that even as his government approaches the end of its second and final tenure, it remains fully committed to the delivery of key infrastructural and social projects.
According to him, ongoing interventions in road reconstruction, mass housing, urban renewal, education, agriculture, economic empowerment and youth development will be sustained to ensure continued progress in all sectors.
The governor emphasized consultation, stakeholder engagement and community participation as core principles of his administration, stressing that accountability to the people remains fundamental to good governance.
He reaffirmed the government’s belief in the right of citizens to hold leaders accountable and called for collective responsibility and mutual care among the populace.
On security, Governor Mohammed assured residents that Bauchi State would not serve as a safe haven for criminal elements.
He pledged continued support for security agencies and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement by promptly reporting suspicious activities, noting that security is a shared responsibility.
As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum, the governor appealed to political parties, aspirants and their supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and in line with the Electoral Act.
He warned that the government would not hesitate to enforce the law against anyone found engaging in actions capable of disrupting public peace.
Governor Mohammed further called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, political actors and other stakeholders across party lines to sustain prayers, cooperation and understanding in order to promote lasting peace, unity and prosperity in Bauchi State and Nigeria.
He concluded by wishing the people of Bauchi State and Nigerians a happy and prosperous 2026.
