The Forum of 36 States Chairmen plus FCT- Abuja of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has commended the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the minister for youth development for their intervention in the leadership crisis rocking the council for years.

METORIC POST learned that the commission had withdrawn the certificate of registration issued to the council until the warring parties resolve their issues and work according to the laws establishing the organisation.

The forum made the commendation in a communique issued at the end of their strategic consultation meeting held in Abuja on Friday, signed by the Public Relations Officer of the forum and chairman Gombe State chapter of the NYCN, Comrade Alamin Ibrahim Muhammad.

According to the forum, the group was a registered organisation with the CAC saying the intervention by its Registrar General indicates that the commission does not only register organisations, but ensures they operate in line with the law.

“The forum of 36 State Chairmen of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) comprising all state chapters including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja has commended and passed vote of confidence to the Registrar General of CAC, Ishaq Hussaini Magaji SAN for his courageous, transparent, and impartial intervention aimed at resolving the protracted leadership crisis that has hindered the smooth functioning of the council.

“The forum further expressed profound appreciation to the Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Hon. Wisdom Ayodele, for his dedicated service, visionary leadership, and commitment to transforming youth development activities in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda”, they said.

They expressed worry over the endemic leadership crisis in the council saying without a united voice, the aim of the organisation is being defeated.
