Yobe: 12,124 Households Received Special National Economic Livelihood Emergency Intervention

No fewer than 12,124 Households in the Pre Registered Beneficiaries of the SNELEI programme out of 24,263 targeted households have received their livelihood packages in line with Governor Mai Mala Buni’s approval.
This was disclosed by the Senior Special Adviser to the governor on youths, Hon Nuhu Hashimu Mai Lambu , at the flagging off distribution on Tuesday where another set of 2400 beneficiaries received their packages
Lambu explained that SNELEI is a Federal Government special Project being implemented by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Nigeria in partnership with Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
He said the project is targeting a total of 24,263 households in Yobe State, adding that this phase of intervention, which started since August 2023, has so far reached 12,124 Households which is 50 percent of the total approved households.
Metoric Post Correspondent reports that beneficiaries received rice seedling basket, which include rice seeds, herbicides, pesticides, growth enhancers, fertilizer and water pump.
Sorghum seedling basket includes Sorghum Seeds, Herbicides, Pesticides, Growth Enhancers, Fertilizer and 16 Liter Knapsac Sprayer.
Under cowpea seedling basket, beneficiaries went home with Cowpea Seeds, Herbicides, Pesticides, Growth Enhancers and 16 Liter Knapsac Sprayer
The Senior Special Adviser called on beneficiaries to make good use of the items for the purpose and warned them against selling out the items.
Mai Lambu also called on NEMA to bring more of those and other livelihood support as it will go a long way in making beneficiaries independent and self empowered.

In his remark the Managing Director of Yobe Microfinance Bank, YMFB and a farmer, Dr Sheriff Al-Muhajir, explained how valuable the kits are to the economic importance and value chain if used wisely.
Al-Muhajir thanked NEMA for this and many other supports to boost the economy situation of the beneficiaries.
Dr. Muhammad Goje, the Executive Secretary Yobe State Emergency Management Authority, who represented the Director General of NEMA and the team lead, Hajiya Binta, appreciated Yobe State Government for the reception and orderliness in the distribution processes.
