Task Force Squeezes 2 Toyota Hummer  Busloaded with illegal miners

The Anti Illegal Mining Taskforce on Monday Squeezed two Toyota Hummer Buses loaded with Suspected Illegal Miners from Niger, Sokoto en Route to Taraba Village.

The the Chairman of the Anti-Illegal Mining,  SP Emmanuel Jamu while speaking to journalists  said in a major crackdown on unauthorized mining, the Anti-Illegal Mining Task Force  intercepted two commercial buses packed with suspected illegal miners heading to Mayo Kam village in Taraba State.

He stressed that the team acted on credible intelligence about miners traveling from Niger and Sokoto states into Taraba, they intercepted the convoy as it approached an illegal mining site in Bali LGA making the arrests peacefully.

“Early findings show that the suspects came from far-off states with plans to mine unlawfully, flouting mining regulations.

He  confirmed that the suspects are in custody and will be transferred to the Taraba State Police Command for further investigation and likely prosecution. 

He reaffirmed the task force’s resolve to break illegal mining rings and urged locals to share tips that could help flush out such operations across the state.
