Provost Taraba College of Nursing, Midwifery Denies False claims of Tuition Fee Increase.

By Andrew Ojih, Jalingo.
The Provost of Taraba State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Dr. Dorcas Dugule, has debunked claims circulated by some social media platforms and a private media organisation in Taraba State alleging that students of the college in Jalingo recently staged a protest over an increase in school fees.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Jalingo, the Provost described the publication as false and baseless, saying it existed only in the imagination of its authors.
Dorcas Dugule noted that the management had not, at any time in recent months, considered any increase in school fees, let alone faced a student protest over such an issue.
She expressed worried over unethical practices of some journalists who claimed to be professionals and contributing to the dwindling popularity of the profession.
“How can someone with a professional guide go out of his way to publish a piece of information about an organization without verification,” she stated.
“That was bad and I called on the general public to disregard such information”
She hinted that since she took over the mantle of leadership late 2025, activities in the collage remain focused.
She stressed that under her watch, the institution has move forward and also witnessed a better level of development .
“I want to commend the school management over their cooperation, the institution’s quest to become the best or one of the best and a reference institution in terms of academic and infrastructures development, in line with Governor Kefas Agbus priority will be difficult tax” she noted.
The provost called on the Nigerian Union of Journalists and other related organizations to brace- up and reorganize the journalism profession, adding that ethical standard remain key and sacrosanct to any individual interested in joining the profession in future.
