ADC Federal House of Reps Hopeful Pledges Jobs for Unemployed Women, Youths if Elected
By Andrew Ojih, Jalingo.
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Taraba State and aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Takum, Donga, and Ussa Federal Constituency, Chief Iliya Ezekiel on Thursday said he create employment opportunities for jobless women and youths in his constituency if elected come 2027 general elections.
Ezekiel, a former Managing Director of Taraba Investment and Properties Limited (TRIP) who stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Jalingo hinted that he would deploy his wealth of experience as former MD of TRIP to serve the people of Takum, Donga, Ussa Local Government Areas, and the Yangtu Special Development Area in Southern Zone of Taraba state.
He noted that Taraba Investment and Properties Limited experienced significant growth, revival, and transformation under his leadership.
“I transformed Highland Tea on the Mambilla Plateau in Sardauna LGA. When I assumed office, the company had only 17 staff. By the time I left, the workforce had grown to 4,800. I achieved this transformation without loans from any bank or grants from the government. I relied on my intelligence, banking experience, and people-management skills to reposition the tea company.
As MD, I revived several moribund companies. Two notable examples are Mambilla Beverages, producers of Highland Tea in Kakara, Sardauna LGA, and Taraba Oil Mills (TOM), producers of palm oil in Kurmi. The 4,800 staff of the tea company were recruited from the 16 LGAs of Taraba State, with a few from Adamawa State” he added.
He added that he possesses the requisite experience and determination to represent his people effectively at the National Assembly and attract developmental projects to the communities, towns, and cities within the federal constituency.
He called on the people of his constituency to support his aspiration in the 2027 polls, adding that he would not betray their trust.
He highlighted that his100 per cent confident that the ADC will be victorious at the local, state, and federal levels at the end of the day.
“I am absolutely confident that the ADC, my party, will assume the leadership of Nigeria in 2027. This is because the ADC is composed of credible individuals who have the best interests of Nigerians at heart.
ADC parades calibre of leaders capable of governing Nigeria in a way that gives every citizen a true sense of belonging. The party has honest and trustworthy leaders who will never betray the confidence reposed in them by the electorate. We are ready to take over power and prove to Nigerians that the country still has good people,” he said.
ADC has competent leaders who, if given the mandate, will guarantee the equitable delivery of democratic dividends.
He informed that with ADC in power, Nigerians would go to sleep with their two eyes closed.
