Bauchi Governor Meets First-Class Emirs, Seeks Stronger Partnership with Traditional Institutions

In a strategic move to strengthen collaboration between government and the traditional institution, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has held a closed-door meeting with the six first-class Emirs of the state at the Government House, Bauchi.
This was contained in a press release issued by Abdulwahab Muhammad, Senior Special Assistant on Communications to the Governor.
According to the release, the meeting was convened at the instance of the Governor and was honoured by all the first class emirs.
They are his His Royal Highness, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, Emir of BauchiHis Royal Highness, Umar Faruk II, Emir of Katagum, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ahmad Sulaiman, Emir of Misau.
Others are His Royal Highness, Alhaji Nuhu Ahmad Wabi, Emir of Jama’are, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, Emir of Ningi and His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, Emir of Dass.
Speaking after the meeting, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, said the engagement formed part of ongoing consultations with traditional leaders, particularly in light of the recent creation of additional emirates in the state.
“The Governor emphasised the need for synergy between the government and the traditional institution to ensure smooth integration and effective governance,” Hammayo stated.
“It was a fruitful discussion that reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to preserving the dignity and relevance of our royal fathers.”
Governor Bala Mohammed urged the Emirs to continue to operate within the confines of the law and to support the government’s efforts in promoting peace, unity, and development across Bauchi State.
The meeting underscores the administration’s recognition of the traditional institution as a vital partner in governance, grassroots mobilization, and community development.
