APC Support Group Backs Senator Shehu Buba for Bauchi Governorship, Eyes PDP’s Defeat

A political support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has thrown its weight behind Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South, as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The endorsement, announced on Sunday, was made after what the group described as a “thorough assessment” of the senator’s record of service.

Chairman of the committee, Aminu Danmaliki, said Senator Buba stood out among APC leaders for his interventions during the fuel subsidy removal crisis, when he provided food items to cushion hardship on citizens.

“Beyond his legislative duties, Buba has been responsive to the needs of the people. He has offered scholarships to children at home and abroad and consistently supported the less privileged,” Danmaliki said.

He urged Bauchi residents to translate the endorsement into electoral value by securing their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

“Endorsement is not enough. We must all have our PVCs to enable us to exercise our franchise,” he added.

Similarly, the APC Chairman in Bauchi Local Government, Sunusi Biyali, hailed Senator Buba for what he described as his “unwavering loyalty” to the APC, particularly in defending the party’s image in 2024.

According to him, “Buba’s contributions to his constituents are commendable. He has shown leadership by identifying with his people and strengthening the APC in Bauchi State.”

Biyali expressed optimism that with Buba on the ballot, the APC could unseat the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2027.
