EFCC Grills Ex-Sokoto Governor Tambuwal Over Alleged N189bn Fraudulent Withdrawals

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday interrogated former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, over suspicious cash withdrawals totaling ₦189 billion during his tenure.
Tambuwal, who arrived at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja around 11:30 a.m., was still facing questioning at press time. It remained unclear whether he would be detained overnight.
A source within the EFCC alleged that the withdrawals were in clear violation of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022. EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, declined to comment on
