The Bakaro Dangikka Primary School Old Boys Association Bauchi has endorsed Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Development, Professor Ali needs as Governor of Bauchi State come 2027.

This was contained in a press statement  signed by the secretary of the association, Umar Musa and made available to journalists in Bauchi at the end of its Stakeholders meeting held in Bakaro Primary School, Bauchi

The statement, captioned “Why Bauchi needs Professor Ali Pate as Governor 2027,”  stated that it was time for a new era of purposeful and progressive leadership in Bauchi State with a leader who has vision, experience and dedication to public service.

The statement said that Pate’s achievements and qualifications make him the best politician to become the next Governor of the state come 2027, considering his track record of successes which cannot be compared to other politicians the state.

“Professor Pate who is a trained medical doctor previously the Director-General, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), and Minister of State, Health,” the statement said.

“As a coordinating minister, he has shown exceptional skills in his policies of free ambulances for pregnant women across the country in addition to his vast experiences in the health sector reform and programmes in Africa, United States and East Asia. This is a great valuable asset in governance

“Professor Pate after his undergraduate medical degree at Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria in 1990, became a Julio Frenk Professor of Public Health Leadership fellow at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts.

“In 2019, he was appointed the Global Director for the World Bank Group’s programme for health nutrition and population Global Practice as director of its Global Financing Facility in Washington, DC.

“Before then, he had served as CEO of Big Wind Philanthropy, a private foundation helping leaders across Africa to invest in their youths to reap the demographic dividend of their populations. He also helped to create many medical centers and Teaching hospitals and repositioned them. They are responsive to the needs of Nigerians in health care.”

“It is a known fact that citizens of the state discussions border on issues that affects the living standard of the people. They desire better education, healthcare, agriculture, housing, pipe-borne water supply, security and safety as well as more employment opportunities and income.

“There is also a growing concern for an effective House of Assembly in the State as no democracy can thrive with a weak legislature. The state need an active legislative arm of government.”

“The state needs a people-oriented executive arm of government and a legislature that can check the excesses of government that truly represent them. All these challenges are what Professor Pate will address when he is elected as governor.”

“Today, Bauchi State stands at a crossroads in an evolving political landscape. If Professor Muhammad Ali Pate accepts our call and contests the governorship position, it will bring the long-awaited salvation for the state. This call is a call for action for those who believe in progressive leadership, integrity, and transformational governance. His candidacy is not just about an election; it is about a vision for a better Bauchi State, and all who know this can testify.

“For too long, the people of Bauchi have sought leadership rooted in competence, accountability, and vision. The journey ahead demands resilience and determination, but with Professor Muhammad Ali Pate at the helm of affairs, Bauchi will emerge stronger and united than ever before. It is our prayer that as the 2027 election approaches, Professor Pate will agree and respond to our call to serve the Bauchi people”
