In his two speeches for being a duly elected Governor of Bauchi state twice, Senator Bala Mohammed, made his firm determination to change the educational narrative of Bauchi state at various level before the end of his stewardship.

He said , “it’s your hope and believe (the good people of Bauchi state) we are here to actualize the greatness of our dear state, therefore, I will be firm and steadfast to chart a better course for better years ahead to overhaul the educational condition that would be a paradigm shift in Nigeria”

The governor also pledged to engage better hands in governance and with focus on the welfare of the people than the execution of white elephant projects lacking direct bearing on the lives of the ordinary people spiced with cheap political gain.

The governor dropped the hints in an interactive session with journalists in Bauchi penultimate week.

Gov. Bala said rather than foisting projects on communities that have no direct bearing on their lives, he prefers to consult with the communities first and allow them to come up with those projects that are best and will impact positively on their lives.

Speaking on tertiary education progress, the provost of the Bauchi State College of Agriculture, Dr. Ahmed Isa Ahmad said, “So far, governor Bala Mohammed’s administration has transformed the college to a first class college in Nigeria through multiple drives and intervention that have never been witnessed since the establishment of the college decades.

He said the incumbent Governor initiated vital projects which includes; construction of ICT to enhance technological learning to compete with its peers in the world, construction of Agricultural retainerships to boost capacity and installation of security light throughout the college, renovation of forestry nursery for good rearing.

Other renovations are; renovation of Assembly hall, renovation of entrepreneurship center.

Also, recently, the governor released adequate fund for full accreditation of new and existing courses of study which is the first of its history in college to have such sense of political will and ability to maintain global standard of tertiary education.

The college conference hall has a new look, well furnish with benefiting materials to comfort staffs and students which is aside from the improved welfare of all staff (academic and non-academic) to boost their morale as well as enhance capacity. Sponsoring of staffs for workshop and approval for fencing of the college”.

A staff of the college who crave for anonymity said, Bauchi college of agriculture alone is a project governor Bala Mohamed should be proud of, it directly and indirectly charts a new course of redefining education as its din in Bauchi state.

In his contribution, chairman of Alkaleri local government area, Garba Hassan Bajama, said the governor remains the most preferred leader of the electorates, who promised to bring together all the stakeholders in the state irrespective of party affiliation but share his vision and ready to support his effort to take the state to the highest pedestal of development within his tenure this why his administration remain focus in making college of Agriculture a first class learning institution in Nigeria.

For instance, additional establishment of the maiden oil and gas academy, has once again justify the political will of Governor Bala in taking the tertiary education to the Eldorado. These developments have brought competent people to invest their vast knowledge and experience to produce future product of the country.

Abubakar Liman, says, I’m not Nostradamus, but, I’m affirmative tertiary institutions in Bauchi especially college of Agriculture would be producing the world leading potential agrarians to support the nations food security and production.
