Ekiti: Kidnappers of school children demand N30m ransom

Kidnappers of school children in Ekiti have reportedly contacted the victims’ families, seeking N30 million as a ransom to release the five students and other captives.
The kidnappers intercepted a school bus on Monday evening and abducted everyone on board, including five students from The Apostolic Nursery and Primary School in Emure, Ekiti, three teachers, the driver, and his conductor.
A source close to the family revealed that the kidnappers had approached the family on Tuesday evening, demanding for N30 million in exchange for the release of their captives.
Kidnappers, while on a bush combing operation through Oke-Osun, Ikere/Igbo-Okah to the thick forest around Iju/Ikere boundary.
During interrogation, the suspects, who claimed to be herdsmen were found with exhibits such as two Motorcycles, one cutlass, one jack knife/ dagger and four phones.
The arrested suspects are, Usman Jelili, Mohammed Bande, Abubakar Aliu, Isah Abdulahi and Suleiman Abdulahi.
