184 students bagged First Class Degrees from Bauchi State University Gadau

No fewer than 184 students have graduated  with first class honours degrees from the Bauchi State University, Gadau, out of a total of 7026 of six sets that graduated.

No fewer than 484 postgraduates students, including PhDs were also graduated by the state University.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Fatima Tahir, disclosed this on Friday at a press conference  as part  plans for the University ‘s Maiden (combined) convocation ceremony holding on Saturday.

Tahir, who disclosed that full  academic activities in the University, began in 2011/2012 session to date, a total of 3,593 students graduated with second class upper division.

The VC disclosed that the University  graduated 484 postgraduates across various programmes such as Postgraduate Diploma (119), Professional Masters (193), Academic masters (193) and 19 PhD.

She explained that the University was established  by the Bauchi State House of Assembly Act of 2009, “to serve as catalyst for educational development and serving the needs for sustainable growth of the state and beyond “

She said the University has recorded tremendous achievements in the past years, attributing it to the selfless services of vibrant, energetic and qualified young Nigerians engaged as member of the University community.

Tahir stated that the University remains a centre  of learning that admits students to gain the necessary  skills and knowledge neccesary for personal and National development.

She disclosed that the Senate  and Council has approved the University to hold the University ‘s maiden b (combined) Convocation on Saturday December 16,2023.

Giving down a breakdown of the convocation ceremony, she disclosed that there would commissioning of the Central Library Complex  funded by TETfund which would be performed by Honourable Bappa Aliyu Misau on Friday.

She said  in sane Friday, that Governor Bala Mohammed, who is the Visitor to the University, would flag off a road construction project of the state government.and commission the faculty of Science Phase 1, which is a NEEDS Assessment project of the federal government. 

Later in the day at 4:00 pm, the First Convocation lecture would be delivered by Professor Attahiru Jega, the immediate past chairman of tgw Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to be chaired by the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim

According to the VC, in line with University tradition , Council and Senate have approved conferment of honorary degrees on some deserving personalities  that have made tremendous to national development and humanity among whim ate Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi Stated
