Governor Fintiri Mourns Adamawa Agriculture Commissioner, Prof. David Jatau

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor David Jatau, who passed away on Friday night in Abuja after a brief illness.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri described the late commissioner as a loyal, dedicated, and accomplished public servant who made significant contributions to the development of the state’s agricultural sector.
The governor said Professor Jatau distinguished himself both as an academic of high standing and as a committed public official who brought his vast knowledge and experience into government service.
“Professor Jatau was a man of intellect, integrity, and service. He brought his wealth of knowledge from the ivory tower into government and deployed it diligently for the growth of our agricultural sector and the wellbeing of our people,” Fintiri said.
According to the governor, the late commissioner played a key role in formulating and implementing agricultural policies aimed at enhancing food security, supporting farmers, and positioning Adamawa as a leading agrarian state.
He noted that Jatau’s humility, candour, and unwavering commitment to duty earned him the respect of colleagues and stakeholders, adding that his death is a great loss to the state.
On behalf of the government and people of Adamawa State, Governor Fintiri extended his heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, associates, the Ministry of Agriculture, the academic community, and all those whose lives he impacted through his service.
He prayed Almighty God to grant the late professor eternal rest and give his family, colleagues, and the people of Adamawa the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
