Police Deploy Operatives Ahead of APC Primaries in Bauchi

Bauchi State police command has announced the deployment of security operatives across strategic locations ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries scheduled to commence today Saturday, May 16.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, said the command had put in place proactive security measures to ensure a peaceful, orderly and violence-free exercise.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, both covert and overt operatives have been deployed to venues and other critical points across the state to prevent any breakdown of law and order before, during and after the primaries.
The statement noted that the deployed personnel had been adequately briefed and directed to maintai professionalism, neutrality and discipline in the discharge of their duties.

The police commissioner warned politicians, party supporters and members of the public against engaging in violence, political thuggery and other activities capable of disrupting public peace during the exercise.
He reiterated the command’s commitment to providing adequate security for all political activities in the state and warned that anyone found involved in electoral offences would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The command also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or activities to security agencies through appropriate channels.
