BAMV, 72 Groups Back Bala Mohammed’s Move to APM
From Paul Orude Bauchi
The Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Vanguard (BAMV), alongside 72 political and civil society groups, has declared support for the defection of Bala Mohammed from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The endorsement came during the maiden inauguration of BAMV officials at the state and 20 local government areas.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Dass Local Government and Director General of BAMV, Mohammed Abubakar Jibo, described the governor’s decision as courageous and taken in the best interest of Bauchi State.
Jibo said the defection was driven by patriotism, sincerity, and a desire to sustain effective governance and development beyond 2027. He commended what he termed a well-calculated political realignment to the APM.

He noted that the group would embark on a statewide sensitisation campaign to educate residents on the reasons behind the governor’s decision, stressing the need for grassroots mobilisation.
Jibo also charged the newly inaugurated officials to actively promote the governor’s achievements and policies at the grassroots level, urging them to rally support in appreciation of what he described as selfless service to the state.

He further praised Governor Mohammed’s leadership style, describing him as a democrat committed to the welfare of the people. According to him, the governor’s achievements over the past seven years are unmatched.
The BAMV DG added that the coalition of groups supporting the governor’s move includes organisations across political and non-political divides, expressing confidence that the APM would secure victory in the 2027 general elections under Mohammed’s leadership.
