2027: Bauchi Intellectual Group, Lawyers Endorse Senator Shehu Buba for Governor

A group under the umbrella of Think-Tank for the Dream Bauchi Project and Lawyers for the Cause of Bauchi State has declared support for the governorship ambition of Senator Shehu Buba Umar, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, ahead of the 2027 elections.

The endorsement was announced during a press conference in Bauchi on Sunday through a statement jointly signed by Prof. Musa Muhammad Kirfi of the Think-Tank group and Mohmood M. Maidoki Esq., Deputy Coordinator of the lawyers’ group.

The groups said after assessing all governorship aspirants across political parties, Senator Shehu Buba emerged as the most suitable candidate based on his performance in the Senate, academic pursuit, youthfulness, political experience and commitment to the development of Bauchi State.

They expressed confidence in his ability to transform the fortunes of the state, describing him as a leader capable of turning challenges into opportunities.

According to them, his candidature would boost the chances of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, noting that his popularity cuts across party lines and enjoys the support of many voters, including members of opposition parties.

The groups also welcomed the decision of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to remain in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), saying Bauchi needs a fresh political direction beyond the traditional APC-PDP rivalry.

They described Senator Shehu Buba as a symbol of unity, progress and inclusive development, adding that his emergence would offer a new future for the state.

The groups pledged to continue working with Senator Buba and other well-meaning politicians to ensure progress and development in Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
