Bogoro Residents Extol Gov Bala Mohammed for Transforming Transportation with Road Projects

Bogoro Local Government Council has lauded Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for delivering on key infrastructure that is easing transportation and boosting economic activities in the area.

The council highlighted the completion of two strategic roads—the 11.2-kilometer Boi–Tapshin and the 11-kilometer Malar–Lusa–Bogoro—as part of the governor’s efforts to uplift rural communities.

During an inspection by the State Facility Tour team led by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Usman Shehu Usman, the Supervising Engineer, Engr. Ado Shehu, confirmed that both projects, awarded in 2020, were completed within schedule. He added that the Tapshin Bridge was elevated to withstand heavy rainfall and flooding, ending years of seasonal hardship for residents.

Villagers, including Istifanus Barde of Tapshin and Astra John of Boi, recalled how floods once cut them off from markets and farmlands, saying the new roads had changed their lives.

The tour team also assessed the ongoing 35-kilometer Boi–Gambar–Lere road project, which was initially 29 kilometers before realignment. With three bridges completed, two more underway, and over 40 culverts installed, Engr. Shehu reported that work had reached 48 percent progress. He also disclosed that a two-span bridge at Zakam was added to the project scope after community appeals, with the governor approving additional funding.

Local leaders, including Hon. Paulmi Bulus Datsir, Councillor of Gambar Ward, expressed gratitude to the governor, noting that the roads were stimulating trade and agriculture. He, however, urged timely completion of the Boi–Gambar–Lere road to further ease rainy season challenges.

At the Local Government Secretariat, the inspection team was received by Chairman Hon. Lawi Yakubu Tsumi, who reiterated the state government’s commitment to delivering all ongoing projects.

Speaking to the gathering, Hon. Usman Shehu Usman said the tour was aimed at evaluating progress on road projects that are changing the face of Bogoro communities.
