From Paul Orude Bauchi
The people of Gwaram Community in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State have expressed deep appreciation to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, for the recent appointments of Alhaji Bala Mohammed Gidado (Rtd. Comptroller of Customs) as the 9th Sarkin Alkaleri (Village Head) and Ambassador Yakubu Santuraki Sulaiman Adamu as the new District Head of Pali.
In a statement signed by Barrister Muslim Maigari, the Dallatun Gwaram, the community described the appointments as a well-thought-out decision that reflects the Emir’s commitment to providing progressive, visionary, and capable traditional leaders—particularly at a crucial period in the nation’s history.
According to the statement, the wealth of knowledge, leadership acumen, and decades of distinguished service of the newly appointed traditional leaders will be invaluable in addressing pressing challenges within their domains. The community expressed confidence that their proven records of integrity, dedication, and public service will greatly complement government efforts in tackling security concerns, promoting socio-economic growth, and improving the welfare of the people.
“We are profoundly grateful to our revered Emir for his foresight in entrusting our communities with leaders whose experience and wisdom will undoubtedly foster unity, peace, and development. This is a timely move towards strengthening traditional institutions as vital partners in governance,” the statement read.
The Gwaram community offered prayers to Almighty Allah to grant the new leaders guidance, wisdom, and strength in the discharge of their duties. They also urged the people of Alkaleri and Pali to rally behind their new leaders with unwavering support and cooperation, ensuring that their tenure brings lasting progress to all.
“Leadership thrives when it enjoys the full backing of the people. We therefore call on all sons and daughters of our communities to work hand in hand with the new District Heads, respect their authority, and actively contribute to peace and development,” the statement concluded.
