Ronaldo Breaks New Record, Scores Most Goals in World Cup Qualifier

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has broken another record in football history, scoring his 40th international goal in World Cup qualifying
Ronaldo broke the all-time record in Tuesday’s game against Hungary at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
The 40-year-old forward netted the equaliser in the 22nd minute off a Nelson Semedo assist, after Hungary had taken the lead through Attila Szalai in the eighth minute.
With the goal, Ronaldo broke a tie with former Guatemala player, Carlos Ruiz.
The al-Nassr striker grabbed a second on the stroke of halftime to help Portugal take the lead before Dominik Szoboszlai restored parity for Hungary in added time for a 2-2 draw.
Ronaldo now has 41 goals in 50 World Cup qualifiers.
Ronaldo now has 143 goals for Portugal, extending his own world record for international goals.
