Bauchi Governor Attends Inauguration of PDP Elective National Convention Committee

Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Thursday attended the inauguration of the party’s Elective National Convention Committee.

According  to the statement, in his opening remarks at the event, which took place at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the Acting National Chairman
Umar Damagum, noted that the party had made significant progress over the years.

Damagum announced the inauguration of a 44 – Member National Convention Committee in preparation for the convention scheduled later this year.

Governor Bala Mohammed, in his address, highlighted the socio-economic progress Nigeria experienced under previous PDP administrations.

The Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum assured that the party is determined to restore good governance and leadership qualities Nigerians once enjoyed, in contrast to the current administration of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, who was inaugurated as Chairman of the committee, accepted the role with gratitude, pledging that the committee would uphold the responsibilities entrusted to it and take all necessary steps to ensure the success of the convention. He thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him.

The event concluded with the formal inauguration of the committee, which also has Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State as Vice Chairman and the Governor of Plateau State as Secretary, with other members drawn from various states across the country.
