Nigeriia’s Super falcons cane from behind after conceding 2 goals in the first half to beat host Morocco 3-2 to complete “Mission X”
Nigeria had beaten defending Champions South Africa 2-1 in the semi- finals while Morocco overcame Ghana via penalties after a 1-1 draw in the semi- ginals
Rasheed Ajibade was declared most valuable player of the tournament with her superlative performance.
Morocco started on a good note in the final held at Olympic Stadium in Rabat as their captain Cheback, who won the golden boot in the tournament, put the host country ahead with a thunderous shot that Super Falcons goal keeper was helpless to stop.
Missoudi then capitalized on another defence error from the Super Falcons and made it 2 for the Moroccans with a fine finish.
Nigeria kept pressing as soon as the second half started and was rewarded with a penalty after Video Assistant Referee confirmed a hand ball.
Ijamilusi made no mistake to slot in the penalty kick past the Moroccan goal keeper after a fine run and pass from Okoronkwo to make it 2-2. before Echehin scored to make it 3-2 to rap up a glorious win for the Super Falcons who did not lose any game in the tournament.
