Bauchi Earmarks N7.8 Billion For Reconstruction Of House Of Assembly Complex

Bauchi State Government has earmarked a whooping sum of N7.8 billion for the reconstruction of the State House of Assembly Complex.
Governor Bala Mohammed disclosed this on Tuesday when he performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the commencement of the project.
Speaking during the ceremony, Mohammed explained that the reconstruction project has a 12-month completion timeline and would provide a conducive working environment for the legislative arm.
“The complex had not been renovated in nearly 20 years and requires modern facilities to enhance its effectiveness,” he stated
“The government has provided temporary office accommodation for legislature and plans to develop housing units for the three arms of government, which will not be sold to ensure their independence and security.
“The contract for the project has been awarded to Mr. Architeronics Nigeria Limited following its track record of construction projects.”
Mohammed expressed gratitude to the State legislators for their support and cooperation, which he saidi facilitated the smooth governance in the state.
Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Danlami Kawule, who is the supervising commissioner for the project said, the project was approved by the governor and rectified by the State executive council.
Kawule said the reconstructed complex would comprise remodelling and renovation of the legislative complex, renovation of dilapidated administrative block, renovation of the committees building, renovation of power house and mosque.
He said the reconstructed State Assembly Complex would boasts services commission building, office of State legislators, , rehabilitated internal roads and drainages, and completion of perimeter fence, 100 KVA solar backup power plant, and water system.
He assured of his ministry’s proper monitoring to deliver quality and timely project, emphasising that the project is to be executed within one year.
Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman, in a goodwill messages, noted that the State Assembly Complex had witnessed one minor renovation in 2011
Suleiman reiterated the commitment of the members towards meaningful progress of the state.
