Police Arrest Woman, 40, For Alleged Rape Of Boy, 12, In Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a woman in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of the state, for allegedly raping a 12-year-old boy.

The suspect, Fatimah Ibrahim, 40,  allegedly raped the Arabic pupil in her house

Ibrahim was reported to have been  recruited (Abubakar Yakubu, not real name) in her business and subsequently took advantage of the minor who was staying in her house to sexually molest him several times for over two months.

The Public Relations Officer PPRO for the State Police Command, Ahmed Wakil, explained that during interview, the boy said he was.  usually given a mixture involving lemon juice, which he believed might have been tampered with before these incidents occurred.

Wakili said nn March 1, 2025, at about 14:00 hours, a concerned citizen from Katagum reported the incident to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Azare. 

According to him. the report implicated  Ibrahim, a resident of Tashan Jama’are, in the case involving the 12-year-old boy, who had been employed to assist her in her business.

“The victim, an Arabic pupil, was reportedly housed at the defendant’s residence, where he was subjected to inappropriate conduct over two months,” the PPRO explained. 

“During an interview, the victim described how the defendant, who he trusted as a maternal figure, engaged him in acts of a sexual nature, especially when her other visitors were not present.

“He recounted being given a mixture involving lemon juice, which he believes might  have been tampered with before these incidents occurred. 

“The victim indicated that he had been subjected to such behaviour on multiple occasions.

“During the subsequent interrogation, the defendant admitted to her actions. 

“The investigation is ongoing, and once completed, the suspect will undergo profiling and be charged to court for the established offence
