A Bauchi state based charity organisation ‘Wunti Al-khair Foundation’ has trained 120 members of islamic aid groups in the state on search and rescue of missing children at the upcoming Eid-el Fitir (Sallah) celebrations.

Our correspondent reports that cases of children missing were being recorded every Sallah celebrations and parents had to go to Radio and Television stations to search for their kids via paid announcements.

Such children get lost at Eid Mosques as a result of too much crowd and stampedes that occur after observing eid prayers.

However, Wunti Al-khair Foundation as part of its contribution to rescuing the missing children trained the members of the aid groups with a view to safeguarding and protecting children at the festival.

Representative of the foundation Abdulrazak Wunti pledged that the foundation would provide all necessary supports in addition to the training to the members of the islamic aid groups with a view to ensuring hitch-free eid.

Also speaking at the end of the training, the Director joint Islamic Aid Groups in the state Bala Ibrahim Sani lauded the foundation for the training saying it would go a long way in enhancing their capacity.

He also explained that the participants at the end of the event have come up with some resolutions to ensure smooth exercise including providing special vehicles to evacuate missing children during the upcoming Sallah festival in Bauchi state capital.

He said the vehicles shall be provided at all main eid Mosques in the metropolis including the Bauchi central Eid Mosque, Gwallaga Mosque, Kasuwar Shanu Mosque and Stadium where the found children will be evacuated to a designated area at the Bauchi central Mosque for parents to come and take them.

He added that Hotlines will be provided for parents to call and recover their missing children from the trained aid groups.

Aside from the eid Mosques, he said the vehicles shall also be provided at strategic places in the metropolis to carry children that lost their ways and convey them to the main office of the aid group centre at the Bauchi central Mosque.

He therefore asked parents to contact the aid groups at the centre to search and recover their lost children.
