Breaking: Tribunal affirms. Mohammed’s election as Bauchi Governor
From Paul Orude Bauchi
The Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has affirmed the victory of Governor Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 governorship election.
The tribunal dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
The tribunal stated that there was no strong reason to nullify the election because it was conducted in compliance with the law.
The Justice P.T Kwahar led three-man panel gave the judgement on Wednesday, September 20.
In March the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Mohammed the winner of the polls.
Mohammed emerged winner after polling 525,280 votes while Abubakar got 432,272.
