The Nigerian Legion, Borno state chapter has partnered with the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons, (NCCSALW) under the Office of the National Security Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to tackle the proliferation of illicit small arms and weapons across the NorthEast region.

According to him, the retired military personnel would join forces with the Centre in ensuring that the proliferation of illicit small arms and light weapons was completely eradicated within the region.

He promised to work closely with the Centre in order to tackle the menace once and for all by sharing information with the centre as well as sensitization in strategic locations.

In his response, Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Adamu (Rtd), the Northeast Zonal Director of NCCSALW, commended them for the partnership and promised to effectively work with them to ensure an arms-free society.
