Bauchi NUJ Inaugurates Five-Member Credentials Committee for Council Election

The Bauchi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has inaugurated a five-member Credentials Committee to conduct the forthcoming state council election.
According to a statement was signed by the State Council Secretary, Isah Garba Gadau, the committee was inaugurated shortly after the State Working Committee meeting of the council.
Speaking at the inauguration, Chairman of the council, Comrade Umar Sa’idu, said the nomination of the committee members by the Congress and their subsequent approval by the NUJ National Secretariat marked the commencement of the electoral process.
He charged the committee members to be guided by the NUJ Constitution and ensure that the election was conducted in a free, fair and credible manner.
Those inaugurated are Elizabeth Kah of the BATV Chapel as Chairperson; Saminu Mohammed of the BRC Chapel; Ibrahim Yakubu of the Wikki Chapel; and Ibrahim Sani of the State Information Chapel as members, while Amina Yahaya, Esq., of Globe FM serves as Secretary.
Responding on behalf of the committee, the Chairperson, Elizabeth Kah, commended members of the union for nominating them to serve on the committee and the NUJ National Secretariat for approving their nomination.
She pledged that the committee would conduct a free, fair and credible election through strict adherence to the NUJ Constitution and electoral guidelines.
Kah urged aspirants and other contestants to play by the rules and refrain from campaigns of calumny during the electoral process.
The committee has four weeks from the date of its inauguration to conduct the election.
