Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Abok Ayuba has  condemned the recent brutal killings of some residents in parts of the state saying the safety of the people of the state is more important than any form of politicking.

Ayuba described as totally unacceptable the latest attacks and gruesome killing of over 80 people, including women and children in Fungzai, Kubwat, Kantoma, Tanknale and other communities in Mangu  Local Government Area of the statw

He condemned the dastardly act of unprovoked and coordinated attacks by suspected herdsmen.

The Speaker charged the Governor of the State and security agencies to live up to their primary responsibility of protecting lives and property of citizens.

Ayuba said the state government must beyond the usual rhetorics of condemning the continuous attacks on communities  in the state.

He urged the executive to demonstrate sincerity of purpose and genuine commitment to address the excesses of land invaders and bring to an end the incessant killings in the State.

The Speaker insisted that the most comforting condolence messages acceptable to the Plateau State House of Assembly  and indeed Plateau citizens from President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Simon Lalong  is to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators of the henious attacks and their sponsors.

Ayuba in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists reiterated that, the massive deployment of security personnel  to the Assembly complex to prevent him and his  colleagues from carrying out their constitutional responsibilities of law making could better be redeployed to protect communities that are susceptible to attacks by desperate land grabbers.

He stressed that the safety of Plateau State people is more important than any form of politicking.

He commiserates with the families of the affected communities in Mangu Local Government Area, the traditional Council, Mwaghavul Development Association and the  people of Plateau State over the loss of loved ones
