Road to 2023: Top musicians endorse Governor Bala Mohammed

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has been endorsed by 11 top artistes from the state for a second term in office.

This was disclosed by Andy Bature, Secretary of the 11 Frontline musicians in the State known as  G-11, at a press briefing with journalists in Bauchi on Saturday, 

According to him, they decided to endorse Governor Mohammed because he was the most qualified among the contestants.

Andy said the performance of the governor in less than four years was excellent hence needed to be given a second time.

“Not long ago we left the All Progressives Congress, APC, to support the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, because we believe in the developmental projects and strides of Governor Bala Mohammed,” he said.

“We believe in his personality and the fact that he is able to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

‘Its not only me that left  There is a group of 11 top musicians in the state who left the APC. We were under the Ambassador Saddique Abubakar  and Bola Ahmed Tinubu before we left.

Bature dispelled rumours that the group left the APC because of rivalry among the frontline artistes in the state.

” They have been peddling rumours that we left because there was power tussle in the group. That was never the reason,” he said.

“The reason is because we have realized that being in the APC with Air Marshal Abubakar was a marriage of convenience. 

“But endorsing Bala was a thing of conscience. We have x-trayed both parties and realized the best.

“I am not in anyway saying Air Marshal Abubakar is not qualified to be the governor. 

“Any indigene of Bauchi is qualified to run for the governorship but  we are looking for the most qualified.

“So it’s obvious to us that Governor Mohammed is most qualified looking at how he has transformed Bauchi within a short time.

“I have worked with former Governor Ahmadu Mu’azu. I was one of the artistes that promoted his good works then. I also promoted Malam Isa Yuguda and to tell you the truth Bala Mohammed has performed credibly  well to the admiration of the people of the state.  

“Despite the fact that l was in APC then, l was given a job to do a documentary by the PDP led government in the state and was privileged to travelled to all the local government areas of Bauchi State.

“What l saw, l said when l come back whenever  l meet with the governor l would ask for his forgiveness because of the things l had said about him in the past.

“Seeing is believing so what l saw was what changed my perception about his person so that is why l am endorsing him for reelection.

I  do not see any obstacles on his way but stepping stones. The masses are with Bala Mohammed despite all the political shananigans he will come out victorious at the end of the day”
