Kente who stated this while addressing his mammoth crowd who welcomed him when he came to inform elders and his supporters expressed worried that governor Agbu Kefas administration has woefully failed Tarabans.
“Let be since with ourselves, the current administration had failed to meet the yearnings of the people, and because of Governor inability to perform, elders and stakeholders across the 16 local government areas few weeks ago met in Wukari and agreed to support his aspiration” he said.
He highlighted that any attempt to imposed consensus candidate in Taraba Apc would divide the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
He lamented that sons and daughters of Taraba state were disappointed with the the Kefas led administration.
He maintained that Tarabans irrespective of political affiliations came together in 2023 to elect Kefas as governor with the hope that he was going to provide development and dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
He informed that more than three years into his administration governor Kefas has no tangible projects to justify the huge resources that have come into the state.
Acoording to him, after wider consultations with political stakeholders across the state, he accepted to contest the governorship election.
Kente further criticised the recent appointment of about 200 special advisers by the governor, alleging that the appointments were aimed at influencing the party’s forthcoming primary elections
