Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, on Wednesday swore in 17 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, warning them to shun corruption and uphold integrity in public service.

The ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Bauchi, saw the governor describe corruption as a major obstacle to development.

“This administration will not tolerate corruption or any act that will bring government into disrepute,” he said, urging the appointees to remain disciplined, avoid insubordination, and stay away from partisan politics.

He also charged them to mentor younger officers, noting that ongoing civil service reforms depend on building an ethical next generation.

Mohammed assured retirees of his commitment to clearing outstanding gratuities estimated at about N20 billion, adding that payment of 13-year arrears began in January 2026.

The oath of office was administered by the Chief Judge of Bauchi State, Justice Talatu Musa Umar.
