A Bauchi State-based group, led by the Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Hon. Muhammad Maiwada Bello, has formally launched the Kaura Force Movement, pledging to defend the interests of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made at a press conference on Monday at the NUJ Secretariat, where the citizens-driven political movement was unveiled.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner who came with some top-notch founding members of the group, described the movement as a response to a “defining moment in our political history,” emphasizing the need to protect credible leadership.

“Governor Bala Mohammed is a tested statesman, an experienced administrator, and a courageous voice for democratic accountability in Nigeria. His administration is grounded in performance, fairness, and the delivery of tangible improvements for citizens,” Maiwada said.

He highlighted the governor’s record of governance, citing strategic infrastructure projects, strengthened institutions, youth and women empowerment programs, and investments in education, healthcare, and social development across Bauchi State.

Maiwada further noted that Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration promotes inclusive governance, religious harmony, and peaceful coexistence, bringing together professionals and technocrats from diverse ethnic and regional backgrounds to serve based on merit.

Describing the launch as a demonstration of “deep public confidence,” the Kaura Force Movement committed to supporting the governor in future political contests, including purchasing his nomination form and providing at least 50 percent of campaign logistics.

The movement also addressed internal disagreements within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), emphasizing the importance of strong opposition for democratic stability.

“While any decision regarding party affiliation remains entirely the governor’s constitutional right, his leadership, courage, and developmental record have earned him respect beyond Bauchi State,” Maiwada said.

He concluded that Kaura Force will continue to reject misinformation, promote peaceful political engagement, and support responsible civic conduct, affirming its loyalty to Governor Bala Mohammed and the progressive ideals he represents.
