The Chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees(NULGE), Taraba State chapter,  Comrade Bajison Wakili Danjuma on Tuesday said the Union has disbursed over N250 million to families of dead members and retirees as part of social welfare.

Danjuma, who stated this during a press conference in Jalingo, hinted that the union under his watch purchased a brand new Hilux, a Toyota Hummer Bus, completion of three star hotel and event centre for the Union.

“Since I came on board,  i have made it a point of duty that every month,  the Union disbursed funds to the families of our diseased members and Retirees,” he said.

“We usually get the details of our died members through  Chairmen of our various local government areas”

He added that the administration of governor Kefas effort towards  local government workers have changed their fortunes.

“Local Government workers in Taraba state are one of the most paid employees in Nigeria, we all know that since the governor came on board,  he has increased our minimum wage  twice.

This increment has greatly improved the living conditions of our workers at the grassroot  who in past find it difficult to pay their children’s school fees ” he added.

He stressed that NULGE in Taraba state has endorsed governor Agbu Kefas for second term come 2027.

“With what he has done, we have unanimously threw our weight behind his second term bid come next year” he noted.

He begged the governor assist local government workers to off set their five months salary arrears owned by the previous administration.
