Gombe Correspondents Escape Accident Caused By Shongom LG Chair’s Driver

Another tragedy has been averted as journalists who are correspondents covering Gombe State governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s projects inspection tour in various local government areas narrowly escaped a fatal accident caused by the reckless driving of the Shongom Local Government Chairperson’s driver.
The journalists, who were travelling in the Correspondents’ Chapel bus, were forced off the road after the chairperson’s driver attempted a dangerous overtake, brushing the driver’s side mirror of their vehicle.
Our correspondent reports that this incident comes on the heels of recent tragedies involving journalists in Gombe and Bauchi States.
In Gombe, seven journalists and media workers lost their lives in a fatal accident in recent time.
Another incident occurred in Bauchi where 14 journalists were involved in an accident that left one dead and several others injured.
The deceased journalist called Kani Ben was a camera man with the Channels Television and was buried las last Saturday in Adamawa State amid tears.
