Renewed Hope Coalition trains 50 women on cosmetology in Nasarawa

In order to make women financially buoyant and become employers of labour, the Renewed Hope Youth Coalition (RHYC) has concluded plans to train 50 women on cosmetology in Nasarawa state.
Hon. Aliyu Abdulrahman Muhammad, the North Central Coordinator of the coalition stated this in an interview with Newsmen in Keffi on Monday.
According to him, the training is going to be carried out by the Renewed Hope Youth Coalition and a Non Governmental Organization, Reality Youth for Good Leadership and Support Initiative (RYGLSI).
He said that all plans to embark on the three-day empowerment programme of the unemployed women had been finalized, adding that the date for the commencement of the training will soon be made known after the selection of the beneficiaries had been concluded.
He explained that the NGO had been given the green light to go ahead with the training and that the coalition has agreed to support it financially.
The Coordinator said that the gesture was to relieve some of the burdens occasioned by the economic hardship on the selected trainees and make them self-reliant as well as employers of labour.
Also speaking with newsmen,
The Executive Director of RYGLSI, Mr Mohammed Dahiru, said that the NGO’s aims were to empower Nigeria youth, promote good governance, encourage community engagement and awareness campaigns and help in building leadership skills, adding that this conforms with the renewed hope agenda of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
While explaining that community leaders and other political stakeholders would play a pivotal role in selecting the beneficiaries, he appealed to governments at all levels and other well meaning Nigerians to take up the task of empowering the less privileged.
This, he said, is achievable through partnership with development partners and Non-Governmental organizations in the country.
“The essence of the training is to empower the beneficiaries with the skill so as to be able to fend for themselves and even become employers of labour.
“They will be effectively trained and at the same time, they will be given items for them to start producing whatever they learn”, he said.
He highlighted some of the Courses Outline to include; introduction to homemade products and cosmetology, product development and formulation, marketing and branding strategies and business planning and management, amongst others.
Dahiru further listed some of the products to include; baseline, hair cream, disinfectant, antiseptics, liquid wash, bleach, shampoo, insecticide, air freshener and toilet wash.
