Senator Yari approves distribution of 746 trucks of Ramadan food items In Zamfara

Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto), has approved the delivery of 746 trucks of assorted food items for distribution to the people of Zamfara State as part of his 2026 Ramadan Welfare Package.
The development was disclosed by the Chairman of the State Distribution Committee for Senator Abdulaziz Yari’s Palliatives and Chairman of the Governing Board of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, Zaria, Dr. Lawal M. Liman (Gabdon Ƙaura).
Dr. Liman stated that 628 trucks of the total allocation are earmarked for distribution to residents of Zamfara State regardless of political affiliation, reflecting the Senator’s commitment to inclusive humanitarian support.
He further explained that 118 trucks of rice will be distributed through Polling Unit Committees via the Zamfara State Chapter of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) across the state’s 147 political wards, marking Phase One of the distribution exercise.
According to him, each of the 14 Local Government Areas in the state is allocated 45 trucks of assorted food items, while a total of 315,000 beneficiaries have been captured for the programme.
The distribution is expected to commence before the beginning of the 2026 Ramadan fast.
Dr. Liman urged all officials and stakeholders involved in the distribution process to strictly comply with the established guidelines to ensure transparency and effectiveness, in line with Senator Yari’s objective of easing hardship and supporting vulnerable citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.
