JUST IN: Renowned Islamic Scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Dies at 102

Renowned Islamic scholar, leader and cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has passed away at the age of 102.
The respected global Dariqa Islamic sect scholar, who was born on June 29, 1927, died in the early hours of Thursday, November 27, 2025.
Confirming his passing, one of his close associates, Daha Azhary Bauchi, announced: “Innaa lillahi wa innaa ilaihi raji’un… Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has passed away (Wafaty). May Allah bless us with his blessings.”
Another close disciple of the cleric, Mal. Umar Usman of Annahada, also confirmed the scholar’s death to our correspondent on Thursday morning.
Sheikh Dahiru was widely regarded as one of the most prominent Islamic figures in Nigeria and across Africa, whose contributions to Islam and peaceful coexistence will continue to be remembered and emulated.
