The 40-year-old forward netted the equaliser in the 22nd minute off a Nelson Semedo assist, after Hungary had taken the lead through Attila Szalai in the eighth minute.

With the goal, Ronaldo broke a tie with former Guatemala player, Carlos Ruiz.

The al-Nassr striker grabbed a second on the stroke of halftime to help Portugal take the lead before Dominik Szoboszlai restored parity for Hungary in added time for a 2-2 draw.
